ABSOLUTELY. This is what we do. Call 911 immediately. We want all our residents to feel safe and secure in and out of their homes. A noise may be made by a person or persons committing a crime to you or your neighbor’s home or vehicle. Call us IMMEDIATELY.
Contact the Police Department at 412-767-5333 ext. 315. Also contact Hoffman’s Kennels at 724-468-5505 to inquire if they have the dog. Hoffman’s Kennels is contracted by the township for animal control service.
All children under the age of 12 years must wear an approved helmet while riding a bicycle on the public roadways. A parent can receive a fine if they permit their children under the age of 12 years to ride a bicycle without a helmet.
The Detective Division of the Indiana Township Police Department includes specially trained officers who conduct follow up investigations for crimes such as thefts, robberies, burglaries, sex crimes, and vandalism. The detectives help identify suspects or gather information following an initial police report. Once a police report has been filed, a detective will take charge of collecting evidence, questioning witnesses and suspects, and performing other investigative tasks to solve the crime.
The Indiana Township Police Department has several officers trained in handling cases involving illegal drugs. They are members of a countywide task force known at DANET. Residents wishing to make a report of illegal drug activity should call the police department and ask to speak with a DANET officer. Callers can remain anonymous.
You can report traffic problems by calling the police department at 412-767-5333 ext. 315 at any time or by e-mailing your concerns to traffic@indianatownship.com . Officers will gather the information and attempt to correct the problem by increased enforcement, contacting a specific violator, or contacting other agencies for items such as additional signage. If the traffic problem is an emergency or urgent such as a road rage incident, please call 911 immediately.
