Municipal Lien Letter Request
Township Portion
When selling your property (including vacant lots) you are required to submit a Municipal No Lien Letter Request at least one (1) week in advance.
All requests MUST include the following items:
- Name of Current Property Owner(s)
- Property Address
- FULL Lot and Block Number aka Parcel Number – This number is available on the Allegheny County Real Estate Portal.
- Buyer’s name(s) or the word “Refinance”
- Anticipated property closing date
- Payment for EACH parcel request is required at the time of application. Fees payable to Indiana Township. See ANNUAL FEE SCHEDULE
- Census Forms
- Property Owner Census Form – Completed and Signed due at time of request including all intended occupants
- Tenant Census Form – Due within thirty (30) days of securing tenant
- Business Census Form – Due within thirty (30) days of securing business
- Self-addressed, stamped return envelope

Delinquent Real Estate Taxes and Municipal Liens
- Delinquent Real Estate Collected by Keystone Collections Group (724-978-0300) and municipal claims since 1996.
- Municipal claims prior to 1996 contact Pennsylvania Municipal Services (PAMS) (412-828-5586)

Real Estate Tax Portion
To request a three year real estate tax certification for both Indiana Township and Fox Chapel Area School District taxes submit your request along with a check for $30 payable to Julie Leventry, tax collector.

- Payment in the amount of thirty ($30) dollars for EACH Lot and Block Number/Parcel Number to: Julie Leventry, Tax Collector, 3712 B Saxonburg Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15238
Certification can be return to you via email, fax, or mail. Please specify how/where to deliver the completed certification.
Dye Testing – Storm Sewer
Dye tests are required for all property serviced by public sewage in Indiana Township.
- Most properties in Indiana Township are serviced by Deer Creek Drainage Basin Authority (DCDBA). Contact DCDBA directly for their requirements 724-265-5315.
- Some properties in the Middle Road area (south western portion of the township) are Township-Owned sewers (Fairview, Ottawa Hills, Middle Road I, and Middle Road II) which require a Sanitary Sewer Certification completed by an Allegheny County registered plumber.
- If you are unsure which sewer district services the property, contact the Township office at 412-767-5333.
Occupancy Permits
- Are required for NEW CONSTRUCTION ONLY
- Not required for sales or refinance of existing homes.
