Our township Public Works Department is located at 941 Route 910, Cheswick, PA 15024 (deliveries only) They maintain all township buildings, parks, and township owned roads. Please call 911 to report all dangerous road conditions 24/7.

Dead Deer on Roadways

  • Call PennDOT 412-781-3260 if on a state road
  • Call PA Game Commission 724-238-5639 for all other roads
  • Dead Deer on private property are the responsibility of the property owner.

Sewer Manhole Covers

  • Manhole covers may not be covered at any time.
  • When the manhole cover is located on private property, it is the property owner’s responsibility to keep it clear of dirt, rocks, fences, structures, vehicles, etc.

Shrubs / Trees Encroaching on Roadways

 

  • Property owners are responsible for keeping trees and shrubs behind the curb line.  However the township may remove any limbs, shrubs, etc. in the right-of-way without notification.

Fall Leaf Pickup

  • Runs for 5 weeks beginning in mid October.  Dates to be published each year.
  • Leaves must be placed in BIODEGRADABLE bags and left out on the curb for Mondays.  Road crews will get to all roads once each week.  Please leave your bags out for if they do not get to your street on Monday.
  • If you live on a private drive, please call public works at 412-767-5333 x319 or email to alert crews of your bags.
  • Biodegradable bags are available for purchase at the Administration Office of Town Hall as well as many retailers.

Snow Removal Concerns

 

  • PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO SCHOOL BUS ROUTES AND HEAVILY TRAVELED ROADS FOR SNOW REMOVAL. All other roads are maintained as quickly as safely possible.

Summer Public Works Jobs

 

  • Applications are accepted each year until the last business day of April.
  • Preference is given to residents of Indiana Township.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

In order to report a clogged storm drain or hazardous road conditions, such as downed trees, problems in a right-of way, dangerous potholes or fallen rocks, contact Public Works at 412-767-5333 x 319 and leave a message with all details, including your name and the address closest to the hazard you are reporting. Please do not call regarding snow removal. Priority is given to school bus routes and heavily traveled roads.
