Some Key Reminders:
Bicycles must have proper lighting when operated between sunset and sunrise.
Electric scooters cannot be legally operated on public roadways and may only be used on private property.
Different devices have different requirements for licensing, registration, helmets, and passenger use. Operators still must obey traffic control devices, signs, and signals. These are also citable offenses.

Requirements: MPOETC Certified or have completed Act 120 training and eligible for MPOETC certification.

In an effort to continue educating those who live and work in Indiana Township, the Police Department offers active shooter training.  This training offers suggestions on how to deal with an active shooter event.  The training is offered to businesses, religious center, and schools.  If you are interested or would like further information, contact Chief Marc Myers via email.

• Premise Alert Request Form – Indiana Township offers registration for special needs resident in a home in case of emergencies.
• Project Lifesaver – If you have a loved one who wanders away from his/her residence, consider enrolling in Project LifeSaver through the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office.
• COMING SOON! – Pet Management System – This database will be used by officers to search for ownership of local dogs and cats.  This is not a public database and will be utilized only when officers encounter a lost dog or cat.
• Lost Dog or Cat – Contact the Police Department at 412-767-5333 ext. 315. Also contact Hoffman’s Kennels at 724-468-5505 to inquire if they have the dog. Hoffman’s Kennels is contracted by the township for animal control service.
